Home / CSUSA Charter School / What is a Charter School?

Charter schools are tuition-free public schools of choice, but each charter school is governed independently. Unlike traditional public schools, every charter school must demonstrate success, or it will lose its charter.

The North Carolina Educational Foundation is a not-for-profit entity organized exclusively for educational purposes. The North Carolina Educational Foundation is comprised of respected leaders in the community that are committed to providing high quality educational options for the student and families of North Carolina. The North Carolina Educational Foundation plans to partner with Charter Schools USA (CSUSA). CSUSA is one of the largest providers of charter school management services in the nation. CSUSA manages private and municipal charters for grades Pre-K through 12.
