During the month of September, Kannapolis Charter Academy came together to give support to the scholars and staff at The University of Houston Charter. With so much being lost, following the devastation that impacted families and schools throughout Texas, Kannapolis Charter wanted to offer their support in some way. This was done by organizing a “Hurricane Harvey Relief Dress Down Day Fundraiser”. The school collected donations from staff, as well as scholars, and were able to raise $ 1,500 to send to the affected school. In addition to the money raised, Ms. Eisel and her 2nd-grade class wanted to show just how much The University of Houston Charter was in their thoughts and prayers. They made cards that offered kind words of encouragement. We should always remember that:
